The Northern Territory Police Force can confirm the lives lost on Territory roads in 2026* has risen to 13 following a fatal single vehicle crash last month.
On Friday, 8 May 2026, a 57-year-old male was negotiating a right-hand turn on his motorcycle from Tiger Brennan Drive onto Garamilla Boulevard, Darwin City when he is believed to have lost control, collided with the kerb and subsequently struck a signpost.
No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved in the crash.
On Sunday, 31 May 2026, he sadly passed away in hospice care/hospital.
Investigations into the crash have since determined that the man died as a result of the single-vehicle crash.
The Lives Lost on Territory Roads tally now stands at 13 for this year.
