Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Burwood East last night.
Investigators have been told a car was driving along Burwood Highway about 11.30pm when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
The car left the road and crashed into a tree.
The yet to be identified female driver and only occupant of the car, died at the scene.
