Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash In Darnum

A man has died after the truck he was driving crashed in Darnum this morning.

Investigators have been told the B-double truck carrying fuel was travelling east along the Princes Freeway when it crashed into cable fencing just before 6.30am.

The driver cabin disconnected from the two trailers before crashing into trees.

The driver, who is believed to be the sole occupant, died at the scene.

Road closures and detours are expected to remain in place for some time while emergency services attend to the large fuel spill.

Officers also attended to a two-vehicle collision which occurred behind the crash.

No persons were injured.
