Police are responding to fatal crash in Tarcutta

A man has died after a multi-vehicle crash in the state’s south.

About 4.30am on Thursday (20 July 2023), emergency services were called to the Hume Highway, Tarcutta following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Riverina Police District located a damaged B-Double and a refrigerated truck, both damaged due to collision.

The 61-year-old male driver of B-double died at the scene while he was trapped in the vehicle.

The 30-year-old male driver of refrigerated truck exited vehicle and tried to contact emergency services.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and police commenced an investigation into the circumstance surrounding this incident.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
