Police are responding to fatal crash – Noonamah 4 February

Northern Territory Police are investigating after a fatal crash last night in Noonamah.

Around 8pm, it was reported to police that vehicle had struck a pedestrian on the Stuart Highway, near the intersection of Jenkins Road.

The driver stopped at the scene and contacted emergency services, however, the male pedestrian was declared deceased upon arrival.

The deceased man is yet to be formally identified.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “Major Crash detectives are appealing to anyone travelling on Stuart Highway near Jenkins Road prior to 8pm.

“Police believe the man was walking south and alone at the time. He was wearing dark clothing.

“The driver stopped at the scene as lawfully required and contacted police. He tested negative to alcohol and had bloods taken for the purpose of screening for any drugs.

“Detectives and forensic officers are currently working to formally identify the man.”
