Police are responding to fatal crash on Colebrook Road, Campania

A 54 year old Mornington man has died as a result of a single vehicle crash on Colebrook Road, Campania overnight.

Shortly after 12am on Monday 20 January the man’s northbound Toyota Hilux drifted off the road into a drainage ditch and rolled, coming to rest in a paddock on the western side of the road.

An off-duty police officer discovered the crashed vehicle about 10km north of Campania and contacted emergency services.

Ambulance Tasmania, Tasmania Police, Tasmania Fire Service and SES personnel arrived shortly after. The man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Initial investigations indicate that excessive speed may have been a contributing factor to the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be involved.
