Police arrest driver after CBD pursuit, South Australia

A woman has been arrested following a pursuit overnight which started in the CBD.

Just after 10pm, Thursday 3 February, police received reports of a woman behaving erratically on Frome Street before driving off in a Commodore sedan. She was spotted a short time later on North Terrace where patrols tried to pull her over. A brief pursuit ensued before police terminated after the woman drove onto the wrong side of the road on East Terrace.

PolAir then followed the car as it drove in a dangerous manner through the eastern and north eastern suburbs until it blew a tyre on North East Road after several spiking attempts. The driver then stopped on a Reservoir Road at Modbury (outside Tea Tree Plaza) and was arrested.

The 31-year-old from Queensland, has been charged with dangerous driving to escape a police pursuit, drive in a manner dangerous and drive unlicenced. She was further charged with possess dangerous article and possess controlled drug after a taser and an amount of methyl-amphetamine was located in the car. She was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
