Police arrest four for West Lakes break-in, South Australia

Four men have been arrested following a break in at West Lakes early this morning.

Just before 3am on Sunday 9 October a woman woke to noises and saw a figure at her bedroom door. The woman got up and discovered her handbag and keys had been stolen.

PolAir was up in the area and saw a Holden sedan leaving the area. A patrol attempted to stop the car on Bartley Terrace, but the driver refused. PolAir tracked the Holden from above on the Port River Expressway and Elder Smith Driver. The car stopped on Grasswren Way and five people ran from the car.

Police Dog Rusty and his handler attended and with the assistance of PolAir and patrols located four of the five men.

Police searched the car and located the keys from the West Lakes home along with gloves, knife and alcohol.

Two men aged 21 from Munno Para West and Blakeview and two 17-year-old boys from Munno Para West and Davoren Park were charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.

They have all been refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
