Detectives from the Sexual Crime Squad have arrested a man this morning following a lengthy investigation into the alleged rape of two teenagers in 1987.
It is alleged a man approached the two girls on Grey Street, St Kilda, before driving them to locations in Elwood and Balaclava where they were held against their will and sexually assaulted on 7 May 1987.
Investigators executed a search warrant this morning at a residence in Mill Park.
The 58-year-old Mill Park man was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
