Police Arrest Man After Armed Robbery – Nepean PAC

A man has been arrested after an alleged armed robbery at a business in Western Sydney overnight.

About 12.40am (Wednesday 8 May 2024), officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were called to a licenced hotel on Great Western Highway, Kingswood, following reports of an armed robbery.

At the scene, police were told that a man allegedly entered the premises and threatened three employees with a firearm before fleeing with $20,000 in cash.

During a search of the surrounding area, officers stopped a rideshare vehicle and spoke with a male passenger before he fled on foot.

Officers located and seized a prohibited firearm and multiple clothing items, allegedly belonging to the man, in the rideshare vehicle.

Sometime later, with the assistance of the Dog Unit, police located the man in a dumpster on Bringelly Lane.

During a search of the man, police located and seized the allegedly stolen $20,000.

The 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station, where he is assisting police with inquiries.

No injuries have been reported at this time.
