A man has been arrested after allegedly scaling a Bolte Bridge tower and refusing to come down today.
Officers were called to reports of a suspicious loiter inside the tower early hours this morning.
Police attended the scene and spotted a man abseiling from the tower.
The man allegedly spray-painted an external wall.
As the morning played out, the man allegedly refused to follow police direction and come down.
A significant number of police resources were deployed to the location including uniform members, highway patrol officers, Critical Incident Response Team, Search & Rescue and Water Police.
The police priority was to get the man down safely.
The man descended from the tower without injury about 11.00am.
A 22-year-old Yarraville man was arrested at the scene without further incident.
He will be interviewed by investigators.
