Police arrest man after Eaglehawk armed robbery

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have arrested a man following an armed robbery in Eaglehawk last week.

The 28-year-old man was arrested in Jackass Flat this morning with the assistance of the Special Operations Group.

He has been interviewed by police and subsequently charged with armed robbery, reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person possess firearm and other firearms offences.

The man will appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

Detectives also executed a warrant at his Jackass Flat home and have seized a firearm located at the property.

Today’s arrest follows an alleged armed robbery at a service station on Peg Leg Road about 7.20pm on Thursday, 7 October where a shot was fired.

The staff member present was not physically injured during the incident.
