Police Arrest Man After Footscray Death

A man has been arrested in Yarraville this evening following the death of a man in Footscray last night.

Police arrested the 37-year-old Williamston man without incident at Yarraville Railway Station about 8.30pm.

He was taken into custody and will be interviewed by Homicide Squad detectives.

A 25-year-old South Yarra man was located with serious injuries behind a licensed premises on Nicholson Street, near Irvine Street, about 7.45pm on Sunday, 7 June.

Emergency services worked on him, but he died at the scene.

At this stage, detectives believe the parties were known to each other.

Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
