Detectives from the Child Abuse Squad have charged a 39-year-old man in relation to an incident that occurred in Doubleview on Tuesday, 12 July 2022.
It will be alleged about 10:30am, the man approached a 9-year-old girl who was not known to him at a local park, and coerced her to a nearby residence where he indecently dealt with her.
The girl was able to leave the house and alert family members of the incident. The man was taken into custody a short time later.
The 39-year-old man from Doubleview has been charged with:
• One count of Detained Another with Intent to Gain a Benefit (Kidnapping);
• Two counts of Indecent Dealings with a Child under 13 years; and
• One count of Procured or Encouraged a Child to Engage in Sexual Behaviour.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 13 July 2022.
