Police arrest man after incident in Mont Albert

Police have arrested a 21-year-old Forest Hill man in Blackburn Road, Glen Waverley about 12.50am in relation to an incident which occurred in Mont Albert last week.

Officers were called to Laing Street about 1am on 13 August after reports of a suspicious vehicle.

They located a white BMW sedan believed to be stolen.

The BMW reversed into adjoining Victoria Crescent and then drove forward, hitting two police cars.

The car then reversed back but was boxed in by another police unit.

Members approached the BMW and officers deployed OC spray on the driver as the vehicle started reversing again.

The sedan hit a male Leading Senior Constable in the leg before driving off.

An ambulance was called and the officer was taken to hospital.

The Forest Hill man is currently in custody and assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are still searching for three offenders in relation to the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
