A man is expected to be charged with murder after a domestic incident at Millicent.
Police will allege that just after 11pm on Saturday 12 March, patrols were called to a house in Poole Street after reports of an assault.
Officers located the body of a 26-year-old Millicent woman inside the house.
A 25-year-old Millicent man was arrested at the scene.
He was taken to the Mount Gambier Police Station to be interviewed by detectives.
Major Crime officers are attending the scene to assist in the investigation.
Police believe that the man and woman were known to each other and this was not a random incident.
