Police arrest man after pursuit, South Australia

A man will face court following a lengthy pursuit early this morning.

Just after midnight, Saturday 19 October, a patrol spotted a suspect vehicle on North Terrace, Adelaide. The driver noticed police and drove off through a red light. The patrol lost sight of the blue Mitsubishi sedan and did not pursue the it due to the manner of driving.

Cordons were set up around the area and the Police Helicopter was called into help located the car. About 12.30am the car was spotted in Brompton.

The Police Helicopter followed car which traveled through numerous suburbs before the tyres were successfully spiked about 2.20am on Regency Road Dudley Park. The car came to a stop on Stacy Court where the driver was arrested.

The 32-year-old from Queenstown was arrested and charged with driving dangerously to evade police, driving in a dangerous manner, resist arrest and breaching bail. He as been refused bail and will appear in court Monday.
