Police arrest man after series of armed robbery attempts in Williams Landing

Police have arrested a man after a series of armed robbery attempts in Williams Landing on Monday, 16 May.

Investigators have been told a 36-year-old man was putting out his bins on Fantail Crescent when he approached by a man armed with a knife about 8.35pm.

The armed man allegedly made demands for money which were refused and he left the scene on a bicycle.

About 45 minutes later an 18-year-old man at a fast food store at the intersection of Forsyth and Sayers roads was allegedly approached by the same man armed with a knife.

This time the man demanded food which was given to him before he left on the bicycle.

In the final incident, a 23-year-old man was driving along Waterways Boulevard when he stopped at the intersection with Forsyth Road about 9.50pm.

The armed man allegedly hit the front of the vehicle and made demands before the 23-year-old drove off.

Five minutes later responding police arrested a 35-year-old Williams Landing man on Waterways Boulevard.

He is assisting investigators with their enquiries.
