A man has been arrested at Darlington after two incidents at service stations this morning.
Police were called to a service station on South Road, Edwardstown about 6.15am on Sunday 17 February after a truck driver reported that someone had tried to steal his truck. The driver was making a delivery when a man allegedly threatened to taser him and steal his truck.
The offender ran off.
Police searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Ben but were unable to locate the suspect.
Just before 7.30am, police were called to a service station on South Road, Darlington after a staff member saw a man enter the rear of the premises. It will be alleged that when he was confronted, he threatened to taser the staff member before running off.
Fortunately, neither victim sustained electric shock or physical injuries during the incidents.
Police chased the man as he jumped over fences in the area and quickly apprehended him. A homemade device was found by Police Dog Zac and seized by police for examination.
The 18-year-old Mitcham man has been arrested and remains in police custody while the investigation continues.
