Police arrest man for murder of baby Ronan

Last night Major Crime Investigation Branch detectives arrested a Glenelg North man for the murder of 17-month-old baby, Ronan Davies.

As previously reported, Ronan was conveyed by SAAS to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital at about 6pm on Wednesday 7 June 2023. He was found to have severe head and other internal injuries.

Sadly Ronan died from these injuries two days later on Friday 9 June.

Prior to Ronan being admitted to the WCH he was returned to his father by a friend who was caring for Ronan. When the father was unable to rouse Ronan he called SAAS who then conveyed him to the WCH.

It will be alleged the arrested man inflicted the injuries upon Ronan while in his care on the afternoon of Wednesday 7 June, prior to returning him to his father.

The 30-year-old Glenelg North man has been charged with murder, refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
