Police arrest man for spate of Bayside offences

Police have arrested a man for a series of armed robberies and aggravated burglaries in Melbourne’s Bayside overnight.

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the 22-year-old in Ebbs Street, Aspendale just after 3.30am.

Detectives have charged him with offences committed last night including:

• Burglary and theft of motor vehicle in Upway

• Armed robbery in Bentleigh East

In addition, he was charged with the following offences committed this morning:

• Aggravated burglary and intentionally causing injury in Mordialloc

• Aggravated burglary, theft and attempted theft of motor vehicle in Aspendale

• Aggravated burglary with an imitation firearm, unlawful assault, theft and attempted theft of motor vehicle in Aspendale

• Theft of motor vehicle in Mordialloc

• Multiple theft from motor vehicles in Aspendale and Mordialloc

The man, of no fixed place of abode, has been charged with 19 charges and remanded to appear Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
