Police arrest man over Craigieburn firearms incident

Detectives from Fawkner Embona have arrested a 37-year-old Roxburgh Park man following an alleged firearms incident which occurred in Craigieburn last week.

Investigators have been told the victim, a 38-year-old Craigieburn man, approached a man in Telopea Crescent about 8.30am on 5 December and asked him to move his car.

It’s alleged the man produced a firearm and threatened the victim with it before getting into his car and driving away.

The 37-year-old man was arrested by detectives in Epping today.

It’s alleged police located a firearm while searching his car.

He has been charged with make threats to inflict serious injury, handle stolen goods and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He is expected to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later tonight.
