Police arrest man over mobility scooter theft

A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of a mobility scooter from a Vietnam veteran’s Para Hills home.

The red Pide electric mobility scooter was stolen from an open carport at Para Hills last week.

Police appealed to the public for information on the theft and received numerous calls to Crime Stoppers with information.

About 1pm on Tuesday 18 August, police attended an Ingle Farm address, acting on information from the public, and located a red mobility scooter, believed to be the one stolen from Para Hills.

After a short foot chase, officers arrested a 30-year-old man from the address.

The Ingle Farm man was charged with theft, unlawful possession and breach of bail. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court yesterday. He will reappear in court on 21 September.

Police thank the public for their assistance and vital information provided which directly led to the arrest and recovery of the stolen mobility scooter.
