Police arrest man over shooting in Roselands

A man has been arrested following a shooting in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 10.40pm (Tuesday 24 May 2022), emergency services were called to a unit block on Canterbury Road, Roselands, following reports of a shooting.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and located a 30-year-old man with an injury to his hand.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment. He remains there in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 23-year-old man was arrested at a service station on Waterloo Road, Greenacre, shortly after 5pm today (Wednesday 25 May 2022).

He was taken to Campsie Police Station, where charges are expected to be laid.

Investigations into the incident continue.
