Police arrest man over stabbing at Wingfield, South Australia

A man was arrested after a stabbing at Wingfield this evening.

Police and emergency services were called to Graham Street, Wingfield about 8.20pm on Thursday 4 March by reports of a violent altercation.

When officers arrived they located a man with stab wounds to the back. He was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

A 36-year-old Wingfield man was arrested by police at the scene. He will be interviewed by Western District CIB detectives overnight and is likely to face court tomorrow.

Forensic Response officers are attending the scene.

Investigations are continuing and police wish to reassure the local community that this is not a random incident and the two men involved are known to each other.
