Police arrest men over sale of illegal tobacco at Dalby

Dalby detectives have charged two men following raids of local businesses searching for illegal tobacco in the Dalby area yesterday (September 27).

Following an extensive investigation and several reports from members of the public regarding the sale of illicit tobacco products, detectives attended a store on New Street and two stores on Cunningham Street and executed search warrants at the three premises.

In total, more than 30kg of loose tobacco was located along with a significant quantity of imported cigarettes and tobacco vapes.

A 28-year-old man and 36-year-old man, both from Toowoomba, have been charged with the commercial sale of excisable goods (tobacco products).

They are expected to appear before Dalby Magistrates Court on October 25.

Investigations into the sale of illegal tobacco products in the Dalby area is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
