Police arrest pair in Devon Meadows with stolen car

The Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit have arrested two people after they allegedly attempted to evade police in a stolen car earlier this morning.

Police observed the car travelling at a fast rate of speed on the South Gippsland Highway, Lynbrook about 2.45am.

Police followed the vehicle until it stopped on Manks Road, Devon Meadows where they arrested the male driver and female passenger.

Further checks revealed the car had allegedly been stolen from a property in Keysborough on 10 September and was also displaying fraudulent number plates.

A 30-year-old man from Hampton Park has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, careless driving, fail to stop on police request, theft of motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, drive at speed and manner dangerous and other driving offences.

He has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today.

A 27-year-old woman from Hampton Park has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, possess methylamphetamine, fail to appear on bail and commit indictable offences whilst on bail.

She has been remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today.

These arrests are part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).

Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
