Police arrest pair with false plates and drugs in Doveton

Police from the Dandenong Frontline Tactical Unit (FTU) arrested two people and seized drugs and allegedly stolen property in Doveton early this morning.

Officers were patrolling near a licensed premises on the Princes Highway, Doveton about 5am when they observed a vehicle bearing allegedly stolen plates.

A man and a woman were arrested at the scene where police also located approximately 16 grams of ice and allegedly stolen property.

The pair were taken to Dandenong Police Station where they were interviewed.

The 28-year-old woman and 26-year-old man have both been charged with traffick methylamphetamine, posses methylamphetamine, theft from motor vehicle, theft of motor vehicle, handle stolen goods, deal proceeds of crime and affix false number plates.

They have both been bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 7 February 2020.

These arrests are part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).

Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they’re most needed.
