Police Arrest Teen After Assault At Noarlunga Centre

Police have arrested a teenage girl in relation to the alleged assault of another teenager at Noarlunga Centre last night.

Police were called to Noarlunga Hospital about 8.30pm on Wednesday 7 October following reports of an assault. The victim, a 17-year-old girl, had been taken to hospital by a friend following an assault that allegedly occurred a short time earlier at a shopping centre at Noarlunga Centre.

Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Following investigations and inquiries at the shopping centre, police today arrested a 16-year-old Onkaparinga Heights girl.

She was charged with recklessly cause serious harm and carrying an offensive weapon in a declared shopping precinct and was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on 22 October.

Police wish to reassure the public this was not a random incident, and both parties are known to each other.
