Police Arrest Teens At Munno Para

Police have arrested two teens following reports of suspicious activity in Munno Para overnight.

Just before 3am on Thursday 2 July, police were called initially to Kipfler Street after receiving reports of four people wearing balaclavas walking down the street and trying door handles of parked cars.

Northern District police quickly responded and the group immediately ran off before getting into a white Toyota sedan and driving off.

Only minutes later, patrols came across the car abandoned in Sarah Street, Munno Para Downs.

PD Griffin assisted with a search and tracked down two suspects who were found on the roof of a home in Olympic Way. The pair were brought down and subsequently arrested.

Checks on the vehicle showed it had been stolen during a break-in at Munno Para.

A number of bank cards and other items were located on the roof which police suspect may have been stolen from vehicles in the area.

Two 15-year-old boys from Elizabeth Vale and Munno Para West were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, unlawfully on premises and unlawful possession. They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court on 21 August. Investigations are continuing.
