Police arrest three after crime spree in Melbourne’s north

Police have arrested three people following a crime spree across Melbourne’s north this morning.

Officers first spotted a suspected stolen white Mitsubishi ASX travelling on Lillian Farren Way in Reservoir about 10.50am on Friday, 4 February.

Police attempted to intercept the car, but the driver allegedly failed to stop and continued on.

The police Air Wing then assisted in following the car towards Merri Creek in Reservoir.

The driver pulled over and a female passenger allegedly fled on foot.

Police quickly responded and arrested a 31-year-old Mildura woman at the scene who is currently assisting with enquires.

The driver took off towards Reservoir with another passenger remaining inside.

The pair dumped the stolen car before allegedly forcing entry to a residential address on Churchill Avenue.

The pair stole a red Mazda 3 and almost collided with a police vehicle which was parked outside near the address.

The driver continued on at speed and travelled through a number of suburbs before entering a shopping centre carpark on Murray Road in Preston.

The pair dumped the Mazda before allegedly committing an aggravated carjacking and stealing a Mazda 626.

Police on the ground followed the stolen car to Montgomery Street, Moonee Ponds where a man and woman were arrested without incident.

The 37-year-old Robinvale man and 20-year-old Mildura woman are currently assisting with enquiries.

Luckily, no police or members of the community were injured during the incidents.

The investigation remains ongoing.
