Fremantle Detectives have charged three people as a result of their investigation into an evade police incident yesterday, 13 March 2019, involving a BMW stolen from Winthrop.
Around 10.30 on 13 March 2019, police sighted the stolen BMW travelling on Capel Street in Willagee. Police activated their emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle but it is alleged the driver failed to stop.
It is alleged the driver of the stolen vehicle evaded police through several suburbs including Hamilton Hill, Cockburn, Palmyra, Melville and Yangebup. The vehicle was abandoned due to roadworks along Spearwood Avenue near Barrington Street, Bibra Lake. Three male occupants of the stolen BMW fled on foot.
One male was apprehended in the rear yard of a home in Yangebup, a second male was arrested a short time later after being located on top of a freight train that was slowly moving along the railway line, and the third male was apprehend after he was located by police hiding in a skip bin at a business next to the railway line.
A 14-year-old boy from Roleystone will appear in the Perth Children’s Court today charged with:-
• 1 x Return to Prison Warrant;
• 2 x Arrest Warrant;
• 2 x Breach of Bail;
• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle;
• 1 x Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;
• 1 x Unlawful Damage;
• 1 x Reckless Driving Speeding by 45 km/h or more on a length of road to escape pursuit;
• 1 x Failed to Stop when Directed by a Police Officer;
• 1 x No Authority to Drive (Never held); and
• 1 x Trespass.
A 17-year-old man from Stratton will appear in the Perth Children’s Court today charged with:-
• 1 x Return to Prison Warrant;
• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle;
• 1 x Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;
• 1 x Unlawful Damage;
• 1 x Stealing;
• 1 x Trespass; and
• 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Amphetamine).
A 19-year-old man from Butler will appear in the Perth magistrates Court today charged with:-
• 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle;
• 1 x Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit;
• 1 x Unlawful Damage; and
• 1 x No Authority to Drive (Never held).
