Police arrest three men over fires in Bendigo area

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested three men in relation to about 40 bush/grass fires in the Bendigo and Campaspe areas.

The fires were allegedly lit by the trio between November last year and 27 March.

Police arrested the three men shortly after two fires were reported in Bolinda and Toobarac last night.

A 31-year-old Quarry Hill man has been charged with 38 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire

A 37-year-old Quarry Hill man has been charged with 38 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire

A 35-year-old Huntly man has been charged with 36 counts of intentionally light bushfire and one count of criminal damage by fire

The three men have been remanded to the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 30 March.
