Police arrest three teens at Christie Downs, South Australia

Three teens were arrested after a police pursuit with a stolen car in the southern suburbs overnight.

About 1.30am on Thursday 30 September, patrols spotted a Toyota sedan on Kenneth Road, Morphett Vale. It had been involved in a drive-off at an Old Reynella petrol station earlier in the evening.

The vehicle was pursued through the backstreets of Morphett Vale and Christie Downs. It drove through a reserve near Jermaine Street, Morphett Vale where it popped a tyre. The Toyota was followed at a slower speed until it came to a stop in a reserve near the Christie Downs Railway Station.

The three occupants of the car ran off into a nearby skate park but were quickly apprehended by police.

A 15-year-old old boy from Christie Downs, who police will allege was the driver, was charged with drive unlicensed, illegal use, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, making off without payment and refuse bail. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court today.

Two 13-year-old boys from Morphett Vale were charged with illegal use and were bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Youth Court on 18 November.

Enquiries revealed the car had been stolen from the driveway of a home at Flagstaff Hill earlier in the evening.
