Police arrest two after fatal crash – Ashcroft

Two men have been arrested over their alleged involvement in a fatal crash in Sydney’s south-west.

About 10.50am yesterday (Monday 6 November 2023), emergency services were called to Maxwells Avenue, Ashcroft, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told a grey sedan crashed into a tree and a power pole, before two people allegedly exited the vehicle and ran from the scene.

Two passengers of the vehicle – two boys, aged 13 and 14 – died at the scene.

A crime scene was established, which was forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, two men, aged 23 and 27, were arrested at Wetherill Park Police Station about 12.30pm today (Tuesday 7 November 2023).

Both were then taken to Liverpool Hospital under police guard for assessment and injuries allegedly sustained during the crash.

Investigations are continuing.
