Police arrest two men in St Albans

Keilor Downs police have made a quick arrest this morning following reports of two suspicious men loitering in St Albans.

Officers received reports the men were looking into houses in Oberon Avenue about 11.30am.

Local police quickly commenced a patrol of the area and propped two men in Vincent Avenue, before they decided they didn’t want to talk to police and fled on foot.

Officers gave chase and followed the duo through Padley Park where one discarded a shotgun before both were arrested.

One of the men was found to be in possession of firearm ammunition.

The duo, both aged in their 30’s and from St Albans, are currently assisting with enquiries.
