Police arrest woman over bus assault, South Australia

A woman has been arrested after allegedly setting another passenger’s hair alight on a bus in the northern suburbs in June.

It will be alleged the woman set fire to the hair of a teenage girl on a bus travelling on Heytesbury Road, Davoren Park just before 4pm on Monday 29 June.

The victim received minor burns to her scalp as a result of the unprovoked attack.

SAPOL’s Public Transport Safety Section launched an extensive investigation to identify and track down the unknown woman and appealed to the public for assistance.

Yesterday, Thursday 29 October, a 49-year-old Davoren Park woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault cause harm and was issued with a three-month transit barring order.

She was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 3 December.
