Police calling for public assistance after Riverside motorcycle evade

Police in Launceston are calling for public assistance to identify a motorcycle rider who evaded police on Monday afternoon.

About 12:30pm on Monday, a silver motorcycle without a registration plate fitted refused to stop for police while riding on Chevron Place, Riverside.

The motorcycle was a silver Japanese road bike with white rims and/or mag wheels.

The rider is described as being a man aged between 20-30 years with a solid build, wearing a light grey hoodie and a white helmet with black detailing.

He was last seen travelling west at high speed on Pomona Road.

The motorcycle was seen a short time before the evade incident riding on Paterson St, Gorge Rd, Bald Hill Rd, Veulalee Rd, Pitt Ave, Pomona Rd, Tamar Rise and Chevron Place.

Anyone who saw the motorcycle around this time or who has information about the rider is asked to contact Launceston Police on 131 444 and quote #640567.
