A man has been charged following a lengthy investigation into the alleged rape of two teenagers in St Kilda in 1987.
Detectives from Sexual Crimes Squad have charged the man with numerous assault related offences including;
• rape with aggravated circumstances (x 4)
• rape (x4)
• false imprisonment (x2)
• aggravated indecent assault (x2)
The charges relate to incidents that allegedly occurred in Elwood and Balaclava on 7 May, 1987.
The 58-year-old Mill Park man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
