Police charge man after aggravated assault

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 29-year-old man following an aggravated assault which occurred on 31 July in Alice Springs.

The 24-year-old male victim and alleged offender became involved in an argument just before midday yesterday. The 29-year-old was allegedly making threats of harm towards people in the area prior to striking the victim in the right eye with a knife. The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital.

The 29-year-old was located hiding in a yard a short time after and the weapon was seized. He was charged with unlawfully cause serious harm and appeared in Alice Springs Local Court today.
