Police charge man after Armstrong Creek aggravated burglary

Western Region Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following an aggravated burglary and armed robbery in Armstrong Creek last week.

The 29-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery, aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, common law assault and common law kidnapping.

The charges follow an incident at a Mallacoota Avenue property on Thursday 16 December, where a woman was threatened with a metal bar, about 9.45am.

The woman was forced into the home and faced demands from the man before a significant quantity of cash was stolen.

It is alleged the man organised to attend the property in relation to items advertised online for sale.

The Keysborough man was arrested by Western Region Crime Squad detectives in Springvale on Monday.

Detectives also executed a warrant at a property in Keysborough and seized a number of items.

The man has been remanded in custody to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court today.
