A man has been charged following two alleged arson attacks in Taren Point earlier this year.
About 4.30am on Sunday 12 April 2026, emergency services were called to a home on Holt Road, near Old Taren Point Road, Taren Point, following reports of a car fire.
Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and found two cars parked in the driveway of the house alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
Police established a crime scene and commenced investigations under Strikeforce Bellquin.
On Tuesday 25 August 2026, police arrested and charged a 37-year-old man. He remains before the court.
Following inquiries, about 11:15pm on Saturday 26 September 2026, police arrested a 30-year-old man in Buchanan Street, Kandos.
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station where he was charged with destroy property in company use fire.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 4 yesterday (Sunday 27 September 2026), where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday 6 October 2026.
