Homicide Squad detectives have arrested and charged a man following a death in Carlton on Friday night.
A 34-year-old Carlton man was discovered lying injured on Victoria Street following an allegedly physical altercation about 6.15pm.
He was taken to hospital where he later died.
A 58-year-old Melbourne man handed himself into Moonee Ponds Police Station on Saturday evening where he was taken into custody.
He was subsequently charged with murder and has been remanded to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday.
