Police charge man after Echuca assault

Detectives from the Echo Taskforce have today charged a man following an alleged assault at a licensed premises in Echuca last month.

A 47-year-old Southbank man was arrested at his property this morning and subsequently interviewed by police.

He has been charged with affray, common law assault, unlawful assault and fail to provide access code for a mobile phone.

The man, who is a patched member of the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

The charges follow an incident on Sunday 28 November where a man was struck at a venue in Echuca.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
