Police charge man after fatal collision in Parwan

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Parwan on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to reports a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ford Ranger collided on Nerowie Road between Parwan South Road and Bucklers Road about 10.10am on 17 September.

The driver of the Ford, a 51-year-old Clifton Springs man, died at the scene.

The front passenger of that vehicle, a 45-year-old Clifton Springs woman, was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Two children in the rear of the vehicle were also taken to hospital.

A 12-year-old boy remains in a critical but stable condition while a 7-year-old girl remains in a serious but stable condition.

The passenger of the Jeep, a 61-year-old Kew woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Jeep, a 65-year-old Mont Albert North man sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

He has since been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and four counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He has been bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 25 September.
