Homicide Squad detectives have this afternoon charged a man following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Vermont on Tuesday.
A 39-year-old man Vermont man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to hospital under police guard.
He has now been charged with one count of murder.
The man will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
The charge follows an incident where emergency services were called to reports a woman had been stabbed inside a property on Delatite Court just before 10pm on Tuesday, 7 July.
A 39-year-old Vermont woman was located deceased at the scene.
Two children in the house were not physically injured during the incident.
Police believe the parties involved were known to each other.
