A man will appear in court today charged after firearms, weapons, drugs and cash were seized during a Firearms Prohibition Order (FPO) search of a home in Sydney’s south-west.
As part of ongoing inquiries, detectives from the Criminal Groups Squad stopped a vehicle on Proctor Parade, Villawood, and served an FPO on the 34-year-old male driver about 9am yesterday (Friday 13 September 2019).
Shortly after, detectives, assisted by the Public Order and Riot Squad, conducted an FPO search at a home on Alcoomie Street, Villawood.
During the search officers seized a replica pistol, a shotgun, extendable baton, several knives, OC spray, $6500 cash, and a large quantity of steroids.
The 34-year-old Villawood man was subsequently arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.
He was charged with possess unregistered firearm-prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm, possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority, two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance.
The man has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 14 September 2019).
