Police charge man after four people assaulted at Redbank Plains overnight

Police have charged a man with four counts of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm following a street disturbance at Redbank Plains last night (October 15) which saw four people hospitalised with alleged stab wounds.

About 8.30pm, police were called to Wright Avenue following a street disturbance in which three men, aged 24, 29 and 60 and a woman, aged 22 were injured.

They were all transported to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old Redbank Plains man was arrested at the scene and denied police bail. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday, October 18.

The man was also issued a traffic infringement notice for driver involved in crash fail to fulfil duties after a vehicle he was allegedly driving side-swiped a car in Wright Street shortly before 8.30pm.

Investigations are continuing with detectives appealing for anyone with relevant dash cam or CCTV footage to contact them (details below).
