Police Charge Man After FPO Search At Narromine

A man will face court charged following a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) search in the state’s central west.

About 9am yesterday (Wednesday 27 March 2024), officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended a home on Old Backwater Road, Narromine, to execute a FPO search.

During a search of the home, officers located drugs when they stopped the FPO search and executed a search warrant.

Officers located and seized cannabis, methylamphetamine, cash, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm part.

Police arrested two men – aged 41 and 48 – and were taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The 41-year-old man was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug >indictable, deal with property proceeds of crime, and firearm found at premises-subject to prohibition order.

The 48-year-old man has been detained and is being referred to Australian Border Force.

The man appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 27 March 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear at Narromine Local Court on Thursday 9 May 2024.
