Detectives from Central Victoria Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team have charged a man following their investigation into alleged child sex abuse in Maryborough the 1970s and 80s.
Police arrested the 75-year-old man, who resides in Thailand, at Melbourne Airport yesterday.
He was interviewed in relation a number of alleged incidents in Maryborough, Castlemaine, and East Melbourne between 1975 and 1883.
The man was charged with gross indecency with a male, two counts of indecent assault on a male person, indecent assault and knowingly possess child abuse material.
He was bailed to appear at Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on 29 October.
